The 2010 FIFA World Cup begins today and here is the official theme song sung by Shakira.

Lena is Eurovision Winner

Congratulations to Lena for winning the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest! Lena, who is 19 years old, represented Germany with her song “Satellite”. It’s a very catchy pop song.

It’s interesting to note that the majority of the songs were sung in English – including the winning entry. However, the United Kingdom entry came last! Spain’s entry “Algo Pequeñito” finished in 15th place. Better luck next year!

This week is The Blog- Workshop at Monte Alto and Castrillón Libraries and we are going to be looking into scary stories. Don’t be scared to come, it’s going to be fun and interesting too!!

Tim Burton is a film producer, director, writer and designer. He was born in California in 1958. His unique style is evident in all his work and especially in his animated films. here you can watch one of his first short animated films which is narrated by Vincent Price, one of the most famous voices in the film world.

Other Tim Burton films include: Batman; Edward Scissorhands; Sleepy Hollow; The Corpse Bride; Charlie & The Chocolate Factory; The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline.

Michael Jackson died this week. R.I.P (rest in peace). He was an incredibly talented singer and dancer. He began singing with his family when he was 5 years old. He became famous all around the world and was known as “The King of Pop Music”. His music and unique style will always be remembered.
