In our last The Blog Workshop we created our own works of art from recycled material. Here  is a show of our work.



This week’s The Blog Workshop is about Creative Recycling.

We want you to bring recycled material which we will use to make something new.

You can bring:

• old newspapers and magazines / periodicos y revistas viejas
• old birthday cards and postcards/ tarjetas de felicitación o viajes
• scraps of fabric /retales de tela
• scraps of wrapping paper / restos de papel de regalo
• ribbons / lazos o cintas
• glitter / purpurina
• photos / fotos
• images / imagenes
• leaflets / material publicitario

*Remember: Bring flat material / Traer material plano

The theme of The Blog Workshop this month is Creative Recycling. It follows on from our last session which coincided with Earth Day and we made some great Earth Day badges.

Here are some of your amazing inventions created at the last Blog Workshop sessions in the library. It was fun to see how many strange and unusual things can be invented to make our everyday lives easier. remember you can hand in your invention designs at the Castrillón or Monte Alto libraries and we will include them here. So get your thinking caps on!!!

The next Blog Workshop session is going to be about “Inventions”.  Some of the great inventions in history make our lives much easier. What would we do without electricity? Medicines? The telephone? Computers?

Send in a comment to tell us which inventions are the greatest or if you have any inventions of your own…

Wallace and Grommit are a dynamic duo of  inventors. You have probably seen their films which are very funny, they are full of crazy inventions. You can help them in this game!

This week The Blog Workshop is about photography and we will have fun playing and creating images with photos.

Remember to send your photos to corunablog@gmail.com to enter The Blog Photo Competition.

All photos will be displayed on The Blog for you to vote and the winner will receive a prize.

The next Blog Workshop Session will be about photography and we will be working with phtographs to create different effects. It is going to be interesting and fun!

Also we will be holding The Blog Photo Competition for 9 to 12 year olds. To enter all you have to do is present a photograph that you have taken. It can be of people (with their permission, of course), animals, objects or places…you could enter a carnival photo! The only condition is that you create the photo yourself. Then send your photo to corunablog@gmail.com or bring it to the next session.

The Blog Workshop this week was really interesting. We had great fun learning about Ancient Egyptian mummies and we also made our own mummies online which was a bit disgusting! (Extracting brains and organs!!)
